Hey folks new here to the forum due to me buying my first Ram! 2001 2500 5.9l v8 with 49k miles and I've gotta say i love it. Now I've been looking around and I really like the monitoring of the Bully Dog GT Guage tuner, but I can't find an exact answer if it will work on my year of truck? Does anyone know? Thanks!

To my knowledge only Hypertech, SuperChips and SCT support our trucks.

If Bully Dog does, that'll be news to me. lol

Hmmm that sucks. I believe Edge does but I don't see anywhere that it offers trans temp, which i would really like.

Don't worry about a tuner reading trans temp. Our PCMs aren't that great for monitoring that stuff...hell, the trans. temp light kicks on way after the trans. has already been cooked.

Get an aftermarket gauge for it and install that if you want to monitor it.

Call them and make sure it will work. It MIGHT only work for Cummins trucks, I don't know as I've never bothered with researching those guys. lol

If I want accurate temps/psi for things I install mech temp and psi gauges.

Meant to update this a while ago but lost track of time. I had the Bully Dog Watchdog installed and I'm content with it as it does show me transmission, coolant, intake and many variations of my MPG. I would have went with gauges but decided not to because I didn't want the clutter of them. Overall good buy for only $150
