RF45e transmission is blown. Dodge dealer is quoting me just over $5,000 parts and labor to replace for a new trans. Any other options? Tried looking on line for used/rebuilt but is that the way to go? Take it to a transmission shop instead? Thanks!

I know I have seen "built" 45's for sale rebuilt for $3500-4500. Hopefully someone will chim in as to who builds them... I have the info saved somewhere but cant find it

I would shop around online, local junkyards, transmission shops. I'm sure u can beat $5000. Post this in the 3rd gen section u will probably find someone that has already had this problem.
