I'll admit i'm completely baffled. I pulled up the 98-99 service manual and pulled up the wiring diagram. It doesn't make sense when you leave the pedal in the resting position the brake lights are on and the ABS+brake light are on. Then when you hit the pedal, the dash lights go off.
I went back through the service manual and looked through everything brake related. Of course, they contradict themselves. They label things completely differently all over the place.
Unfortunately, the service manual isn't going to be of any help unless I know which section is correct. To know that, i'll have to pull my brake switch and test it myself.
At this point, you can either take it to a shop that specializes in electrical or brakes, or wait for me to test it out myself and get back to you. I have tuesday off, i'll try to get to testing the brake switch then, but i've also got other errands as well.
