estimated 10000lbs of wet oak firewood in a heavy duty carhauler that was squattin pretty good. pulled surprisingly well. we usually have to make 3-4 trips with my days toyota that we used to use... we filled that ***** to the gills twice and were done with the ram.

35,980 gross total. Truck weight is 7700 with trailer is 16300 . So just about 20,000 lbs . That is with a 32' gooseneck with 22,500 lb axle rating.

When I first got me license we had a old ass 12 valve box truck. If my dad was short handed I would have to drive from one venue to another. Guessing it was 15-20k in gear. If the load wasn't done right the front suspension would hit the bump stops going down the road. Not a fun ride.

Back before I got my license they took the box off, moded it extremely, and used it to pull a 5th wheel trailer loaded with sound equipment and staging. I know fully loaded, which rarely happened it would weigh in around 40k. Old truck had a hell of a time with all that.

All of that sold me on Cummins durability. When we sold that truck it had almost 270,000 miles and I think its still running. Now we have a 7.3l Power Stroke. Handles a lot better but has a hard time getting everything going with a full box and a 12,000lb trailer.

The only thing I pull regularly is wood pellets for people with pellet stoves, any where from a ton or two up to about 5 tons plus the trailer, would pull more but thats about max for the 18 footer, heres a pic of the last load, only 4 tons.

That my only source of heat for 2 buildings. I burn about 12 cords a year for 2 houses. No propane here, no electric heat, just wood stoves. With winter temps as low as -25*F...
