So you detailed the truck a few days ago, and it's starting to get dusty again.

What is the best way to remove the dust... California Duster? Waterless Wash?

Any other methods?

Seems like no matter whatever i used to use, seemed to fine marr the finish. In my own experience, I'd rather leave it a little dusty to ensure no fine swirls or scratches....and mines black....at truck shows i hate it getting dusty, but then I think of the consequences if i attempt to dust it off...then im ok with the dust....

Generally speaking---if it's dusty enough to make you wonder what to use, it's probably dirty enough to wash---IMHO

I use the California Duster. It works great. I originally bought it for my Black 09. Didn't leave any swirl marks or scratches.

I noticed swirls marks after the Cali-Duster personally.
I trashed mine many vehicles ago.

A waterless wash / wax (like Fukken) would be my recommendation.

same here, i dont dust my cars anymore. my truck had a bunch of swirl marks. on a black truck VERY noticeable.

as said by Pull Ya, if it's dusty enough to make you wonder what to use, it's probably dirty enough to wash-

if its black, its gonna be dusty A LOT, which is why i dont buy black vehicles anymore :)

A shiny one
If you like polishing on a routine basis to remove marring/swirls/scratches, then a duster is the way to go. ;)

If you like your paint to stay in good condition, a Waterless or Rinseless Wash product is the ticket.

They contain emulsifiers that will soften/dissolve the dust particle, and when combined with a waffle weave towel, will safely remove light dust and dirt. LIGHT is the optimal word there. These products have limitations, and if it's more then LIGHTLY dusty, it needs to true soap and water wash to safely remove the contamination.

A few videos explaining both:

Rinseless:

Great feedback!

I have been looking into the waterless wash system, but here lately with all of the wind we've been having the truck seems to need to be dusted every morning. It's not majorly dusty or anything, but enough for me to notice it

I don't know what people are doing with there duster to leave swirl marks in paint, I don't get any nor does it cause scratches in the paint. I like mine works just fine if used right and it's maintained. With what yous guys are saying I would be washing my truck every two days and thats not feasible in my op.

Everytime you rub something across your truck's surface your going to leave some kind of mark(scratches)---some are small and can be barely seen and others may be a little more noticeable. After you do a couple of proper scratch corrections, you become a lot more picky about what you use to wipe your truck down with.

I'll just let it go on my op on this, to each their own.
