Nope, I have had no issues. Its funny you brought this up because I just finished a HID conversion of the KC's lights. I also tinted them with laminx and plasticdipped my grill insert. These are 55W 5K H3 HID light kit. I used gorilla glue along with the metal clips to hold the bulbs in the housing. The rest was just wire splicing. Here are some pics!

that lamin-x really makes it look sweet I think....... i really like the set up, and would like to do it to my truck! but i have to ask, when/where do you use your KC lights? i can see if you go offroading and stuff, but i've seen some lowered trucks on here who have the same setup, so i doubt they do much offroading. i'm not good with thinking outside the box...

Thanks man! Ya, they're really bright so you can't use them on main roads. I usually use them when I'm out in the country where all the deer are or at camp. Basically anywhere BUT in the city haha

That's awesome! I was just talking to my mom the other day about doing this after seeing a 3rd gen at home depot with lights behind the grille but I didn't think 4th gens had enough room. I wonder how led light bars would work?

I will be attempting to install my PIAA 520 SMR Driving Lights [5264] later this coming week.

Will post pics & feedback upon completion.

I think I might just have to do it, just to do it. It looks really nice with the lamin-x. Any fear of the lamin-x melting?

Nope, JJ said it wouldn't melt and I have had no issues with any of my lights.

I even hit it with a heat gun and it softens a bit but cools right back to normal

Sorry for the delay, I was out of town. I used Retro for my heads and fogs and went cheap for my KC conversion and got DDM H3 55W 5K.

is it just me or are those lights not completely centered...They right one looks to be closer to the RAM emblem than the left one....

I measured across the metal support rail in front of the radiator and drilled holes to fit the 1/2" mounting bolt on the bottom of the KCs. I measured 6" on the drivers and 5-7/8" on the passenger side. The reason the measurements are different is I kept setting the lights where I thought they should be, put my grill back on, and measured from the center of the grill openings. I drilled about 1/2" in front of the metal rib running across the center like in the pictures.

They are different distances from the middle

Did you mean on mine or Grubrunner? Might are centered, I measured the edge of the light to the inside edge of the grill center to make sure they were the same. Here's a shot from last night with them HIDed out.

I put my bullbar back on and my next project to put lights on it hehehe

I did the same ordeal over the weekend..... hardest thing ever just about. My main problem was the size of the lights. 6 inch lights are a bit big and are just a hassle to mount in such a cramped space. If you are thinking about doing this type of setup, it is cool but not easy. Make sure the lights are smaller ( Like 5 inches or less) and that they are thin. My transmission cooler kept getting in the way. Found out it was easier just to unbolt it. If you have any questions I wouldn't mind helping out anyway I can.
