Start by removing the rear seats. This is easy. Flip up the bottom cushion and remove the 6 bolts holding the seat frame to the floor. Once the seat frame is unbolted and removed, it will look like this-

Next, locate the four "clips" on the back wall that hold the seat back in place. They look like this-

Remove the first one and hold it back in place upside down like this-

Cut the rear liner as appropriate so the clip can be bolted back in upside down-

Do this to all four-

Reinstall seats.

To flip down the seatback, lift the bottom cushion until the back raises up and inch or so, than fold the back down onto the bottom cushion.

If this sounds difficult or confusing, you're over thinking it. It really is this easy!

I did this also, but I removed two bolts instead of six. The two star bolts on each one of my bench. Then I lifted up and it was free. Same idear, just another method for someone without the 60/40 rear seat.

I never use it, I just did it to do it.

Can I also theoretically do this too if I put some spacers in between the bolts that hold down back seat in place to raise it as well?

I have an 03 Ram, but I want a little more space for my subs, and move my amps back there... also might be a fix for the guys who want to do this but have the welded hooks...

What did you do for your amp, can you post a link to how you mounted your amp back there?
Thanks

I just screwed mine to the firewall shield with wood screws..... Stays pretty good. Plus the pressure from the seats holds them in nice and tights.

Droid Incredible 2 on the move!!!
