Rule of thumb is 5" of lift for 35's.
So what's the best 5 inch lift or 5.5 as I think they sell to that I can get without spending a lot of money
Thanks a lot for the help guys! With a 5 inch lift and 35s will the wheel wells look stuffed? Or some room
If I did a 5 inch skyjacker lift and 3 inch body lift.. Will the bumper brackets for the front and rear work with heavy steel off road bumpers? Will they be compatible with aftermarket bumpers and can they hold the weight?
Should be able to with proper wheels yes. Just be aware your front end will hate you.
Will it put a lot of stress on the front end or something?
Yes. 2G Ram 1500s use the Dana 44 front end, which is notoriously weak for a truck front end. Ball joints, track bar, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, etc will become yearly chores, if not more. Also very hard on the transmission if you have the stock ratio.
So best to stick to a 12.50 35 unless I want to change the axel and get new gears etc.. I've got the 4.10 gears right now
Oh I was not aware you had 4.10, I was assuming you had 3.55. Majority of these rigs had 3.55. 4.10 will make life much easier on your trans. What's this truck mainly do? Daily driver? In town, highway? 35's regardless what width will still be very hard on your front end.
It's my daily driver and i drive it both in town and highway about 50/50. What if I stayed on 33s until I can get a Dana 60 front axel. At the moment I have a ranch hand front bumper do you think that's ok or too much stress on the front end because of the added weight
Personally I was a fan of 4.10 and 33's. I'd just stick to that. The ranch hand is heavy yes and it will add stress.
I found a Dana 60 for the front but Id have to put the 4.10 gears in it but I could keep my rear axel because they are stronger right?
