Hail is really easy to repair. I'm a bodyman by trade and I have done lots of it. Sand the hood down with 120/180G then make sure the dents have been sanded as well. Starting with a light glazing putty spread a thin layer over the hail dents, wait for it to "flip" then block sand it with 120g. Take your time as it will be well worth it in the end. After all the "dents" have been sanded out, check for pinholes in the filler then give them another very light layer. Sand them out then put a few heavy coats of primer on the whole hood. Let cure or if you have access to a heat lamp put the hood underneath it 'till completely dry. For safety measures spray a coat of black paint over the entire hood (for guide coat purposes) that way you'll be able to tell if all the hail was caught or not. No big deal if a few were missed just go and fill them again with the glazing putty and repeat the priming sequence over. Block sand hood with 180g and work up to at least 320g before painting. I find it's always best to wet sand with 600g wetsand paper. Always use a block for this as it will stay true to the flatness of the hood. Wash off, wipe with a degreaser of some sort then paint it. That simple. If I was closer I would've had it already.......... Good luck.
