Okay, got my seats installed last night and ran a temp power wire (RED) to adjust the seat until I get the harness. I am a little confused on the wiring under the driver seat. My tradesman seat had Two grey plugs and a gray cell phone charger looking connection under the seat that were all just daisy chained together with the other ends going under the carpet to the center console (assuming to the center console and passenger seat). My new seat had a yellow plug and a grey plug but after plugging everything back in I am not sure what gets plugged into the Grey plug that was attached to the seat. The Tradesman seat only had one yellow plug to begin with attached on the underside where these two plugs are at under the driver seat. :help:

The grey plug will be included with the harness you get from M2 Mods. Your Tradesman will not come with the wiring harness that plugs into the driver side seat. The gray plug has 5 wires that go from it to the passenger seat two wires that go to the heated steering wheel connection under your column and two more wires that hook up to your CAN connection under the driver side kick panel. This it's similar to what your truck will look like after you install the M2 mods harness. The gray plug will be included with it.431e046aecab6cbcb1f9fa235d8d407a.jpg

Awesome thanks Rick! That makes sense if that connector is included in the harness. I was looking at it and was confused because I did not know that connector was part of the harness (assumed it was supposed to be in the truck and just pin it out) thanks again.

When I originally converted my truck I did it a little bit differently then the factory way to get power to my seats. There were connectors that were not present in my PCM( power distribution center, also known as a,fuse box) so I just ran a relay from the battery. When M2 mods came out with her harness I felt as much better option so I bought one. This is a picture of the actual harness I received. You can see the gray plug in it. I have worked with both of these guys and I can assure you when you get your harness you will be blown away by how well it's made and the attention to detail. Every single wire will be marked where it goes you just need to pay attention to the schematics and instructions and make sure you plug in everything in the correct pin. aa5d0da8be1f7911d0acf1b2f3f15771.jpg

Thanks Rick, that makes perfect sense now. Deere has been awesome to deal with and getting back to me he is just backed up with multiple orders for harnesses. I now have everything except the harness so as soon as I get that I will wire everything up and keep you all posted. I have been reading the instructions he sent over and can tell a lot of care and detail is going into these harnesses (very high end).

Thanks! Sorry it’s taking a bit. I’m starting it tomorrow and should have it ready to ship on Monday.

You do not need to worry about the quality coming. His workmanship is oem, once installed it will take a very trained eye to see it doesn't belong and thats highly unlikely.

Hey all, quick update my harness from Deere (Thank you) will be here today so I will try and get this all installed over the weekend. I got my Steering Wheel put on and was waiting on the clockspring and USPS lost the package and put it in someone else's parcel locker and cannot find it :banghead: Now I have to see about getting another one shipped! I am going to at least get everything wired up without the clockspring and not have the heated wheel for a little bit the seats should still work from what I have read?

Also, when I did my 8.4 swap I had a bunch of apps on my screen including the "controls" icon and now they all went missing. Anyone know why this happened and how I get the controls button back on the screen? When I got mine I noticed from XM radio that it was out of a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee so not sure if that has something to with it.

cpotts, I found mine on car-part.com out of a wrecker close to me for $150 :happy107: super cheap compared to everything else I was finding.

Just a update all with freezing fog and 16 degrees this morning I installed the harness from Deere last night (Everything I was expecting and heard from other members very High quality and labeled very well thanks again Deere) The install took 3.5 hours by myself very simple plug and play. I had no codes installed from the dealer or AE tool and everything works. My seats and wheel were out of a 2015 Ram 1500.

I spoke with Deere regarding the 8.4 missing the "controls" soft key and we have tried the basic stuff ie factory reset checked software version 17.11.07 and all that seems correct. Pre seat install the only thing I had installed from the factory that would have shown up on the screen is the backup camera and I know that to get the seats to show up I will need to have the code added for the seats and wheel. Anyone have any other ideas about the controls soft key simply missing? Regardless, the Heated wheel and seats was well worth the $ the limited wheel wood on top gets way warmer than the full leather :) I will try and get some pictures up today of the seats and everything working. Thank you everyone for their help in getting another one done and in the books.

Congradulations glad to hear you got it done. I definitely enjoy using my auto start and having it nice and warm when I get in. As far as your controls button goes I'm not quite sure what would cause it to dissappear if it was there for the backup cam before. I am sure Deer Guy had you do all the proper resets to try to get it back. One suggestion I might recommend is if you know anybody else with a 13 to 16 Ram install the radio in their truck and enter the security code. Once it activates in their truck remove it and install it back in your truck and activate the security code again. When you do that the truck will read your options and hopefully pick up on control button. I have used that trick in the past to get my voice texting working again. When and if you ever add the actual seat codes it will definitely bring up the control screen button again on your radio and hopefully the backup cam would be in it again. Good luck.

Thanks Rick, the only thing that Deere and I came up with is the 13-15 never had the "controls" button for the backup camera until 16-present. Maybe it has something to with that but we are not sure. I emailed infotainment to see if they have any thoughts on what is going on.

I'm sorry I thought your truck was a 16. I can't see your profile on my phone. You are correct if your truck is a 15 or older you will not have the control screen button for the backup camera.

Deere was thinking that it was supposed to have been "standardized" across the board with 17.11 for the features in the radio's but neither one of us are sure on that. If that is not the case sounds like adding codes might be the only way to get the controls soft key to appear?

Unfortunately from what I'm understanding after talking to 00/RT unless I'm mistaken the option is not in our body control modules at all so there is nothing to flag it on the radio.

Anyone know if a 2015 Ram 2500 Tradesman would have the sales codes to have the dealer add the Heated Seats and wheel to the BCM? It would be cheaper than a genie if this is possible.
