I think the 2019 Ram redesign looks fantastic. It looks well-designed and cohesive.

The 2019 Silverado on the other hand looks like a bunch of random shapes and angles haphazardly thrown together. It looks awful.

I agree with you. I wasn't sure with the leaked pics, but after spending today looking at all the picture I could find, I really like it. Except that chrome hood badge. Yuck. The interior looks absolutely amazing. It puts Ford and even the new Chevy to shame.

I don't know if the new Silverado will grow on me or not. Right now my opinion of that is:doublepuke:

I like the rebel, wonder if you can get the larger screen as an option. I do like the fact they don't force the air suspension on you any more

Oh the air suspension is still there, now it’s in the off-road package.

They said in the video it’s an option now on the Rebel, you can now buy a Rebel with regular suspension

I’m not impressed. I’m glad I didn’t wait to get my ‘18.

So 2300lb payload, does anyone know how they got this.
Seems like they would had to change a few things other than making them 6 lug.
6 lug axles and a new frame for the most part are a good start. 5th gen rams sit on a different frame then the 4th gen predecessor

So, is there no more "Sport" model?
From what i understand the "sport" package s now a buildable option on the Laramie trim. Kinda makes sense from a manufacturing point of view. It's just an option now rather then a model.

I think on the new laramie sport we'll get the hood they showed and all the color matching, unique rims possibly even 22", but I didn't see a unique bumper to the sport trim.

Either way, it's gonna be awful hard for me to hold out on that black Laramie sport.... My 17 is only 6months old though. This is the first time I can honestly say i wish I would have waited for the new gen release.

I don't like it. I could just imagine that cost to maintain that system. Likely have to sell the house and the first born to replace the battery after warranty. Disappointed that Ram did nothing to up the power in the 5.7L

It's likely a 3k battery plus labor. Honestly though there are armies of the Toyota Prius hybrids out there with hundreds of thousands of miles with the original battery.

I think it looks pretty nice. The only small complaint is the painted panel between the bottom of the headlights and the top of the bumper corners. Seems like they should have done something more there with bumper and lights. Reality is I will probably never own a 1/2 truck so please bring on the 2500/3500. Those are what i care about. Ohhh, and if Ram ever gets ride of the Mega Cab I'm will be doing some serious looking at Ford.

I read that the new 2019 RAM 1500 Crew Cab is 4 inches longer...?

That means it will no longer fit (nicely) inside my garage, and I do try to park my $50K truck inside my garage overnight, for security reason.

I guess I will have to stick with my 2017 Crew Cab, and to me its size is perfect.

Looking forward to seeing this truck and hearing more about MPG figures with the mild hybrid system. From what I’ve seen so far it’s not as bold and distinct as what it’s replacing. I won’t go so far as to say it’s ugly but it’s far more bland than the 4th gen. They have done a phenomenal job with the interior in my opinion and this is saying a lot as I really like the interior on my 2016 BH. Tow capacity and payload capacity are right up there with the others.

It’s going to be interesting to see what the up charge is going to be on this system on the Hemi. Assuming a 10% bump in MPG, it’s hard to imagine it’s going to cost a lot more than the already up charged Hemi option. If so, no one will buy it and will instead opt for the ED if fuel mileage is their concern.
