Can get used housing off ebay for $50. Bulbs for $20. Your paying for the name. Bulbs are made by the same chinese manufacturer...CREE
These aren’t used they’re brand new. And anything cheap you buy for a car or truck isn’t going to last. I’ve bought 20 dollar housings off eBay for one of my cars back when I was a kid. Didn’t even last a year. I spent 50 grand on my truck it deserves better than 20 dollar knock offs.

Hey its your money, spend it how you want. I bought LED headlights for my projector housings with anti flicker harnesses made by CREE for $25. Moromoto kit is $250 just for bulbs.

Not a good idea to run LED in a project. They don’t perform well.

That is true when it comes to using LEDs in projectors designed for incandescent.
These are specifically designed to be used with the LED chips that Morimoto uses.

He’s talking about his factory projector headlamps.

Me too.
All OEM and most all aftermarket projectors for our trucks are designed for incandescent/halogen or HID bulbs. You are correct by saying LEDs do not perform well in these projectors.

This is where the game changes.
The morimoto LED projectors are designed around the LED chips inside.

Oh okay sorry misunderstood you. The lights are great. Way nicer than my GTR Gen 3s. I just can’t help think they could have put 3 more chips in then though to make them a little brighter. The beam definitely has better coverage than my gen 3s just not better brightness. a2e4182dd18226b767ce42ef1532df96.jpga5d6289e0ecb6ca28c5facc3b36fc26c.jpg

Not teying to hijack this thread. Check out my post in exterior titled "LED projector bulbs".

Led may be better than stock in a projector but they’re not recommended and they’re nowhere close to being hid

But you also have not experienced a good hid kit. I’ve seen LEDs in projectors I’ve installed countless amounts of them.

Your missing the point of overpriced morimoto kits. The bulbs i bought are made by the same "Chinese" manufacturer morimoto uses. Only i paid $25.

Lol how do you figure? Again I’ve installed everything from led to cheap hid to quality hid. I have learned along time ago you really get what you pay for.

Lol I do my research. For installing countless amounts of HID and LED bulbs you shoukd know this. But if you want to justify spending hundreds of dollars for the same "Chinese" led bulb by all means go right ahead.

Hey smart guy, CREE is an American company based out of North Carolina. Kind of a stones throw from China, no?
