Try dailying my Evo X. Built motor, big turbo, no cats, straight exhaust. Surge tank in the trunk and a massive aeromotive external fuel pump.

It's like being stuck in the middle of a robot ****. with all the whining, buzzing and clicking going on hahaha.

Mine sounds great doesn't bother me at all. Pedal commander actually helped with the mds noise

Did you any difference with the Carven exhaust and your Pedal Commander? My PC doesn't seem to be as snappy. Drone is not bad at all.

Yes I have the R Carven. Some drone but not that bad. It's a loud exhaust, but at highway speed I don't hear it.

I think most guys with CC notice it more then QC's. I don't drive highway much but when I do I just drop her down into 7th and the drone is gone.

If I did a lot of highway driving I would have removed it. Thankfully I do 95% city driving.. aka 13 mpg life.

I have the carvan competitor. Yeah the drone is horrible when MDS kicks in. But what do you expect when running on 4 cylinders? Lol. If you turn MDS off, it just sounds like any other truck with an exhaust, not bad at all.

I have the r on mine. I don’t notice any drone, maybe the light hum of my tires covers it up but cruising on the highway I barely hear a rumble from my exhaust. I also had my muffler mounted past my cab under the bed just before the axle and I think that has something to do with it. Sounds amazing at start up and under acceleration tho! I love it. People that whine and worry about drone should just leave the factory muffler on their truck.

I have heard a lot of guys say they get a bad drone from carven. I will be going with the tried and true 18" stainless magnaflow with a custom x-pipe section.

Yeah i noticed quite a bit of difference. My first take off with it I accidently chirped the tires and I barely hit it. I've gotten used to it now so probably not as noticeable as it was. But if I took it off or turned it down and put it back on I'd be like damn again

I went through this with Flowmaster also. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough.....I hate drone...
Dealer recommended Magnaflow and no drone...sounds nice.
From what i understand that if you want no drone and aftermarket exhaust...you have to have a tuner to take away the MDS. I didn't get a tuner and the Magnaflow's work awesome.

Honestly this exhaust isnt loud by any stretch of the imagination, and sounds perfect on start up and driving around.

But at 1500 RPM the drone is unbearable. I am trying to give it some time, to see how the muffler breaks in, but dang its bad.

For reference this is the Progressive series, on a 2017 1500, 8spd with 3.21 gears. It just so happens to drone terrible at 70-75 mph and when MDS kicks in.

Im thankful I kept the oem muffler...

For those that have this muffler, does the drone ever get better?

THE UNFORTUNATE ANSWER IS

NO

I find myself knocking it back to 7th and leaving it there (or 6th)

I am ordering 392's on a 19' once RAM boxes become available

U got turbo? I'm a sucker for anything that blows.[emoji12]

Yup! 325cuin 5.3LS custom cam, ported heads and a 76 series single turbo front mount, FMIC and a progressive **** kit. Same engine also had a centri supercharger. I also have a 90 Suzuki gsx 600 with a DIY rear GT15 turbo. Boost is everything :)

This is why when people ask me for what brand exhaust I often recommend Carven or Corsa. Carven is perfectly fine for 95% of the time. Most customers do not say it drones alot. most will say it is easily bearable for the minimal amount it drones. most people love their Carven exhaust.

Corsa is the only system that I can say will not drone at all. We have not heard a single complaint on Corsa systems. But you are going to pay much more money for corsa as they tune their mufflers to the exhaust pipe to cancel out any drone.
