So I did a dumb thing and put a pretty sizable dent and scratch in my rear left quarter panel on Saturday. Took the trailer to the dump and got caught in some nasty, muddy terrain. Kids were with me and screaming at me in the cab. In the chaos I was backing up and jack knifed the stupid trailer right into the taillight housing area. It's one of those short utility trailers. I wasn't paying attention and it turned super fast. I heard a big crunch and then wanted to cry!
It cracked the bottom of the tail light housing so that will for sure need to be replaced. Good thing those stock one's are fairly cheap. The biggest issue that I can see is that it dented the frame edge around the bottom of the housing. The plastic fastener won't even go in on that side anymore. Do you guys think this is a somewhat easy fix? The scratch went down to the metal so the paint I'm sure won't be cheap.
I'll be headed to the local body shop after work to get a quote. Any opinions would be appreciated though!
