Agreed. I wish somehow Ram, Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler would be purchased by an American company. Probably wont happen, but I wish they would.

seems like things get better with every merger. No reason it won't continue.

Step one - shut down Chrysler. The minivan is dead thanks to the crossover. This leaves us with the 300 that only car rental companies and people that want an SRT 300 buy. No one can find an SRT 300 so it won’t be missed.

Step two - spin Jeep off to its own division and scrap the current platform. Bring back anything that doesn’t resemble a 4x4 minivan and ban current, future and former soccer moms from buying it. While they’re at it, change the Jeep waive symbol so it doesn’t resemble the shocker.

Step three - spin the SRT trims off to their own division and market them to the demographic that buys them. Yes, primarily older balding men with something to prove that can’t fit into a Corvette. There are exceptions of course, but most of the younger crowd can’t afford them new so don’t bother wasting marketing dollars.

Step four - leave the Ram line alone. It has issues but we’ve figured them out so don’t introduce any new ones just yet. On second thought, drop 20” city boy rims from the HD lineup and while you’re at it make the 6-speed an option.

Step five - across the board, reduce the number of inclusions and exclusions in packages and trim levels. For example... Want rubber floors in a Laramie Longhorn because you live up North and get snow and ice? Too bad, can’t have them but you can have mildewed carpet in Spring! Want a manual transmission? Nope, but here’s some cylinder deactivation that mirrors shifting from 2nd to 4th on accident.

Anyway, I could go on and on, but to sum it up don’t **** it up. Okay....! Carry on....

Just a plan to incorporate a French auto manufacturer responsible for Peugeot and Citroën. What hurts is the name Chrysler is disappearing.

It was bad enough with Fiat; their big plan was to import there joke of a car the Fiat 500.
Sub compact that gets mid 20s MPG when by all rights it should be getting 30+ MPG.
NOBODY wanted it. They couldn't hardly give them away. Now this.
Fact is Ma' MoPar has been dead for a long time.

Daimler ***** her, (siphoned money from Chrysler to prop up their failing Mercedes brand) then cut her throat (when Chrysler was tapped out put it up for sale) leaving her for dead. Chery of China was a prospective buyer. Can you imagine Chrysler owned by the Chinese.
"You buy A #1 good Chery Chrysler now!"

But an investment group Cerberus purchased Chrysler with the intent of liquidating the rest of its assets.
But there was so much public backlash from the prospective killing of one of he big 3 they ended up selling it as a whole to Fiat.

They won't mess with the Ram brand much....its making good money right now.... other divisions, namely Chrysler, are on the chopping block for sure.

That said..... there will most certainly be a major push for more electric options across the board.

I'm not a fan of all vehicles being pushed towards batteries.... sure, there's a place for them, but not for every application.

But that's what's coming....

They have been looking for a Partnership for years, GM and Volkswagen both turned them down and now it’ll be the 4th largest manufacturer of vehicles in the world.
It’s a Dutch company so we should see some tighter engineering with more electric vehicle’s and smaller engines that are either turbo or forced induction too.

Stellantis will be a sort of conglomerate of brands, some great and some not so good and most very regional. The list also includes Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Maserati and Alfa-Romeo on the Fiat Chrysler side, as well as Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel and Vauxhall.

So this is what we get, America’s Soul, the Love of our automobiles unlike any other Country in the world being owned by any another country in the world.
Damn shame.

I hate to see Walter Chrysler's name disappear. I've been a Chrysler fan since my first car, a 1966 300. That big sled with a 383 outran a show-off in a Camaro in front of a cute girl.

Been a Mopar guy ever since.

I hated to see the Dodge brothers name removed from the trucks, actually.

And so it goes.
