As title says. I'm thinking about trading my truck in on a 2010 dodge ram qc with 37000 miles. They are asking 16950 for the truck, seems like a steal to me. Going to test drive the truck Monday, but I don't know about getting into payments again. The truck is ruby red and already has 22 inch wheels. Need some help to see which direction I go. Also pros or cons would help me too.
Thanks David

Having a 4th Gen I say go for it if the truck seems to be in good shape after driving it

16950? That's a steal. Around my area, that would go for low twenties. Then again, I'm in So Cal.

Thats a great price if its Hemi and 4x4, what model is it???

I don't remember the model package it was . It is 2x4 and 4.7. They want a lot around here for trucks with the hemi.

hell around here you cant find one that doesnt have them hemi in it. i would definitely lean towards one with the hemi in it if it were me. i have the 4.7 and im not very happy with it performance wise.

ahh that price makes more sense then. a brand new one of that would probably only cost you 23-25 maybe, and thats in canada where every thing is ridiculous. see how much a new of the same will cost ya at best, and then see if its a good price or not!

Do you NEED a newer truck, or is it just alluring?
I'm assuming you outright own your '02, and there is something to be said for not owing money on a vehicle.
There will always be something newer/nicer/faster/shinier than what we have and I think we as a society, have to learn our wants vs needs much better.
My $.02, who drives an '01 subcompact import because its paid for.

My 02 has the 4.7 and I would love to have the hemi, but they ask quite about around here for them.

I will look them up later and see how much of a deal it may or may not be.

It is alluring for sure but my truck has 121xxx on it and I'm kinda worry the motor or tranny may go. That is a reason I have towards the new one.

^ i see your reasoning. it may end up costing more in the future. this way you will have a truck you know is sound, and no worries

Those are the reasons I traded my 07 for a 12. But I am truely impressed with the new truck compared to my old 3rd gen but both were 4wd and Hemi equipped

i paid 15k out the door for my 09 hemi.. with 23,000 miles fully loaded i'd keep on looking but if you like the truck your looking at pull the trigger. my father in-law had a 11 4.7 and hated it he traded up to the hemi and loves it and got better fuel mileage

There's a pretty descent price jump going from a regular cab to a quad cab or crew cab, which for a QC or CC around me are going for $20-$25k depending on the other options besides the Hemi and 4WD

In August of 2010 I bought my 2010 Ram SLT 4x4 with the 4.7 for $23k and change. I just traded it for my 2012 Longhorn Hemi 4x4 and they gave me $22k trade (with 24k miles) without even seeing it. I paid $9k below MSRP for my Longhorn. I'm satisfied!!!

There are good deals to be found everywhere. Good Luck.

get what you want, if you want the hemi find a good deal, 17k plus on a truck is a big investment make sure it is one you want and don't regret not spending an extra maybe 5k for a hemi in the long run it isn't to much and you'll be happier, but if you are fine with the 4.7 go for it.
