That is a DOUCHE move !!!!! Some people???

How bad is it? Insurance bad ??

I starts at the back corner if the cab, and goes back to the wheel well. Looks like the cab panel, bed side, and fender flare will need replacement. I reported to insurance and police, but haven't seen an adjuster yet. I'll do that Monday after I get home. My guestimation is ~$5k.

I seem to remember mine used to be up around 220, and now they are usually lower. I think as the engine breaks in a little, and that new "stuff" burns off the engine, it seems to smell and run hotter.

How long was the trip and what outside temps?

How do you like it compared to your other truck?
Trip home was about 60 or 70 miles...hot yesterday and humid...maybe 90 degrees outside.

Love it so far. I'll miss the CTD, but plenty of power and low end grunt for me and my towing needs. My fiver isn't that heavy and I don't tow far or that often. The ride is amazing compared to the 13 2500 I had. Night and day difference with new suspension and air ride.

You got air ride? I'm jealous. Wonder how much to add it.

Anybody with 6.4 and 4.10 rear axle notice a slight hum between 50 and 60 when you let off go pedal? Goes away upon acceleration. Maybe MDS? Not sure what that sounds like. I don't think it's a gear whine that others have had trouble with...it's only under deceleration.

Checked axle fluid. Full and clean. Normal breakin metal on fill plug magnet. Thoughts?

MDS would be my guess, especially on a flat. It might stay on if you only barely touch the gas as opposed to normal acceleration

I can sort of feel it in peddle, sort of a faint growl sound maybe. Not too loud and only when I decelerate. What should MDS sound like??

Do the 2500's with the 8.4 radio and 7" evic have a eco mode indicator? It would be a setting in your radio settings for the evic, that would be a big indicator if it is mds or not.

I don't think so. I have looked everywhere for something like that. Can't find it if it does??

I've noticed a little lugging at times...I will pay closer attention. After 280 miles or so, I'm at a decent 15 mpg.

Today, I noticed it went to 6th gear at about 50-55. I think the shift and MDS are both mpg savers so they are programmed to work in combo.

no eco mode on mine. just have to watch the instantaneous mpg. If you have that and also watch the RPM, you can tell when its from an upshift or MDS or both. On an upshift, the mpgs will go to 15-20, from 10-15, and MDS will kick it over 20. This is all my observations, and I may have it backwards. After awhile you just forget about it and drive.

Should MDS be kicking in on deceleration? Just coasting? So yours has this sound between 50 and 60 mph? Thought I was nuts...mine is not a growl I've decided. It's more like a constant hum from 60 to about 50 on decel only. I really can't tell if it's in the rear or in the engine or tranny. Unless the radio is off and windows up and ac turned down, I can't hear it.

Mine does this as well. I've noticed it mainly around town when coasting or at steady speeds. The condition disappears as soon as I depress the accelerator.

Looks great.
Yes my Hemi badges were a lot harder to get off as well. It's almost like a totally different adhesive.
