I have a 2012 Ram 1500 SLT. I can buy a 8.4" Harman VP4 NA out of a 2016-17 Durango. I don't know if this unit will match up with my radio and climate controls. Does anyone know if this upgrade will work?
Thanks!
I had bought and installed a set of Westin Platinum Oval step bars. They were on the truck for 7 years and now they have rusted pretty badly. They have also caused some rusting on my truck where they mounted to the frame and in the cab corners. I was wondering if all steps/running boards...
Yes, it's too big. Crutchield has a mounting kit but I'm not sure how that will work since it's too big. Most adapters work when the unit is too small.
So a friend traded his car and I removed the after market head unit that he had in there. Today I went to install it in my truck but the frame of the unit will not fit into the factory opening. I have a 2012 1500 with basic radio. The new unit is a Kenwood DNX619HD. I dont see any trim...
This happened to me last night. I was wiring my 3rd brake light for my cap and used that as a ground. I didn't know if those studs were threaded in on pressed to the frame.
so ... what if you use that ground and over tighten and the stud breaks. Can they be replaced or do you have to drill a new hole and use a nut and bolt?
I think that lifting the cap an inch or so would be the answer. I just need to decide what to use to raise it. I'll take a walk thru a local surplus store this weekend and see what might work.
My tailgate has a lip that wont allow the window to close completely. I think I'll need to remove the rubber strip and maybe cut some aluminum to make it fit.
Interesting didn't know a 3rd gen would fit. That's a good looking shell! I'm thinking of trying to find some type of rubber to fill some of the gap similar to how the bed and cab have a gap filler. Maybe I can just buy some of the bed rubber as that would work well
I just bought a topper...
I just picked up a topper this past weekend that was from a 97. It fits the bed fine but the back window does not lay flat because of the bump on top of the tailgate. For the money I paid I figure I can modify it to fit.
