iv got a 2006 ram 5.7 1500 with roughly 210000 kms and have a few problems iv let pile up and any help would be greatly appreciated ..

1. While driving ( seems random ) the abs and park brake lights will go on and off with the bell ringing each time , makes any drive longer than 2 mins drive hell .. the lights will go off and on in no pattern , constant or every few seconds .
2. Speedo will stop working while driving and go back to zero then work again , the truck surges when this happens. This process happens pretty fast ( 2 or 3 times in a couple mins but also random)
3. When braking the truck feels like a warped rotor( shakes) but more like rear brakes arnt working in sync with front and they are coming off and on like pulsing.
4. Looks like oil leak from intake on rear of block dripping to exhaust ( no oil on ground but pretty wet underneath and smokes ) iv done some research and looks like bad pcv valve can cause this ? If this is the case will replacing pcv valve fix or will I take gaskets need to be done too ?
5. Steering play - bout 2inches on steering wheel , tie rods and any other moving parts seem tight , play seems to be in the rack ?

I wouldn’t normally let a vehicle go this far but I do construction working 70 plus hrs a week but can’t afford to take truck to garage . My knowledge is pretty basic ( not good with internal stuff or electrical/ sensors ) but am able to replace “bolt on parts “ any help greatly appreciated .

So 02 sensor and EVAP leak are your codes. Some of the electrical sounds like a POSSIBLE TIPM failure in progress but could be something else. Steering play could very well be rack/pinion ive already replaced mine (off roading abuse.)
the 02 code could be something thats helping cause more smoke as well besides just oil burn off.
How old are the rotors and have you checked your E-brake components like shoes and what not because those could be broke and causing some messed up rear braking issues. just a few things to look at to help narrow SOME stuff down

Evap code is probably dry rotted tubing around the charcoal canister.

The speedo & ABS issues sound like a speed sensor problem.

The two codes are definitely O2 sensor & evaporative emission leak problems.

The O2 sensor is telling the PCM that is is suffering from low voltage. Check the connector to make sure it is clean, not corroded and is connected securely. If all those conditions are met, replace the sensor.

The evap system leak is probably a dried, cracked or disconnected tube to the evap canister. It could also be a failed canister but given the age of your truck, the rubber lines have probably perished at this point.

The brake pulse could also be a faulty ABS sensor or main ABS module.

I'd recommend replacing your PCV valve. They do fail and are a general maintenance item.

Good luck!

Thxs for the replies , very much appreciated ... I replaced the pcv valve and seafoamed it through the line to the booster . Truck smoked an unreal amount and took it for a short drive , seemed to run smoother and have more power .. checked the oxy sensor connection and they seemed ok so I’ll replace that too ( limited to what I could do today as it’s minus 20c out , damn Canadian winters and not having a garage ) which o2 sensor is bank one sensor one ? That’s the code that came up . Abs still has me stumped , trying to find someone local with the reader to see if there’s any codes ..

Bank 1 is driver side, bank 2 is passenger
Sensor 1 is upstream (before the cat)
Sensor 2 is downstream (after the cat)
