Wow what timing. I’m getting the exact problem now but I think it may be rear…. So today I go search the symptoms and find my old post. Apparently my memory may be failing like my wheel bearing too. If I remember correctly it was a giant pain in the butt plus I’m much older and everything...
the time has come for me to buy tires and it looks like I have more options if I go with something smaller than a r20. I have RCX 6'' lift with 37 12.5 r20s now. I like the look of a smaller rim anyway and was wondering if there are any disadvantages of going with smaller rim. Also anyone...
I just realized that was an upper control arm ball joint kit... I need lower control arm+ball joint. Can't really find a lot out there for replacements of lower ball joint and control arms
Thanks for all the responses. Went to order and not sure I have the right part.
I looks like the moog part isn't the right one b/c it says RWD and it's so much cheaper than the MOPAR part.. anyone have moog ball joint control arm assembly and happen to remember the part #?
I also found...
After researching I've decided to go with Amsoil 5w20 Signature Series for my next oil change. Looking around and trying to find the best place to buy it online... looks like I can order from amsoil but I've read they charge a lot for shipping. Anyone have a better place?
Thanks
thanks for the response. I'll try them out. Looks like Moog makes good stuff so I think I'll try out lower ball joint control arms... hopefully it will hold up with my 37s.
I have a 2011 Ram 1500 with a 6'' RCX suspension lift and 37'' Nittos on 20'' rims. Passenger lower ball joint is going out and I figured I'd replace driver and passenger side while I'm at it. It looks like I have to buy the control arm and ball joint assembly together (not just ball joint) I...
thanks for the response. Good to know. I'd like to go with Bilsteins all around but I don't see one that would not require me to run a spacer on the rear. Do you have bilsteins in the back with a spacer? I stopped by 4x4 shop and they only have procomp prorunners for back unless I wanted to...
did some additional searching through the forums and it looks like a lot of people go with the Bilstein 5100s
I'm guessing the adjustable one like this
Bilstein Part 24-187367 - 5100 Series Ride Height Adjustable Shock Absorber
instead of this one
Bilstein Part 24-187374 - 5100 Series...
I have a 2011 with RCX 6'' lift running 37s. I stopped by a local 4x4 shop to see about my options for upgrading my front suspension as it is pretty stiff and I'm running the stock struts. The RCX has 2 strut spacers up front and they said I could go to a Fabtech adjustable coilover for a much...
both high and low beam drivers side lights went out and I started to get a new bulb but since both are out I thought it may be a fuse... can't seem to find any fuse for this. Anyone had this before? passenger side high and low beam works fine (I have 4 light set up)
thanks, the instruction video from 1AAuto were spot on with exception of removing axle. Saved some serious cash doing it myself...and I only smashed my fingers once.
Ok, I got the bolts removed without removing axle. I have my hub assembly replaced and everything put back together... ABS, ECS and SERV 4WD lights went off and life is good. I'm even showing better gas mileage
Here's what I did
first off, thanks for all the responses to my earlier posts and I apologize for all the questions.
long story short I'm replacing a bad hub assembly in front driver side of my 2011 Ram 1500.
I'm following this video How To Install Repair Replace Front Wheel Bearing Hub Dodge Ram 1500...
thanks for the responses. I have the calipers, rotors off so I can replace the bad hub assembly; so its not really drivable. Yes, I just need to invest in one. Now If I can only get my axle off so I can get the hub assembly off.
i'm committed now
So I decided to go ahead and replace the hub assembly after picking up the OEM part from Chrysler ($274)
Here's the noise after getting everything pulled apart... I made a video in case anyone wants to hear what it sounds like
Bad Hub Assembly In 2011 RAM Video by elcid98...
trying to get diagnostic codes for my 2011 Ram as my ABS, traction control and serv 4wd lights are on (hub is bad...see my previous post). I've tried the following to get codes but no luck
Cycle the ignition key On - Off - On - Off – On within 5 seconds (doesn't do anything)
turn ignition...
anyone know how difficult it is to replace the hub bearing and assembly? I got a quote from the dealership for the Part: hub bearing and assembly at $274...I wasn't sure on labor and I saw a few videos online showing the process and it seems fairly straight forward. Only thing I'm unsure about...
