01 Transmission fit a 99?

Okay so my auto transmission in my 99 dodge ram 4x4 with the 5.9 V8 is going out. I found a 2001 auto transmission from a 4x4 with the 5.9 V8 as well. SO will it fit? I know they are the same transmission but I have heard that they did some electronic updates after 99. Any input would be great because I plan to go pick it up today. I know buying a used transmission isn't ideal, but I can't justify spending $2000 to have it rebuilt when I'm just about to sell it.
