I have a Cam from Mopar that is Rated to give more power up to 6200 RPM and recommends 5.7 springs and does not require tuning, however why would they worry when their stock trucks redline at 5850 on the third Gens. My point is if you are using a Superchips your definately OK as far as springs go but i would upgrade the springs if doing a nice cam and reving 62 - 64 k RPM. I have read that 5.7 springs on 03's have failed but never heard anything local, upnote they tend not to drop a valve after overheating like the later years (LX 05-06 cars). I did find one of my 05 valve springs with a broken bucket tab (48 k miles) but it was wedged under the spring and only apparent after i took out the spring as you don,t want metal bits to fall down the oil galleys.
