Hit the 100,000 mile mark so i'm Replacing plugs and coil packs for starters. Everything I see points to a required gap of .043. First 4 I pulled out are have gaps at .050.

Using NGK Laser iridium Lzfr5cI-11. What gap should they be set at?

Last 2 old plugs on the passenger side against the firewall had a gap of .58 and .60.

When tuning a naturally aspirated 5.7 HEMI I start with a 0.44" plug gap and adjust from there. With stock tuning your motor will run great at 0.44".

Gap when you take a plug out is irrelevant, especially at 100k miles. To be honest I am kinda surprised the gap isn't larger, must be a good running hemi if this was first spark plug change. Gaps grow in use.

I'm replacing mine also.
What the best coil packs?

If there's nothing wrong with your coils other than age, I wouldn't replace them. If they're faulty, stick with OEM replacements.

So, the existing plugs were laser iridiums? I was under the impression that iridiums didn't get used until 2013 or later, but I may be mistaken.

The new ones are already gapped, IIRC.

The NGK 92145's I got for my '15 were all gapped right on the money. Be extra careful when checking them as the electrodes are tiny.

The originals I removed at 106K, were only a few thousandths larger, so they eroded very little over time.

I just use CHAMPION 446 {#REC12MCC4} and change them every 2 years. @ 1.50$ each you cant go wrong.

On a 12 ram it should have had copper plugs that were scheduled to be changed every 30k. If it's got iridium, it's either a unicorn or plugs were changed previously. Ram started iridium plug usage mid 13 about the time the 8 speed got introduced. Never seen a 12 with iridium factory stock however I could be wrong stranger things have happened

I just changed mine for the first time on my 2014 today, at 223,000 miles. Still looked great. I could have given them a light cleaning and reinstalled. Gaps were between 0.040 and 0.050. Drill bit in photo for size reference is 0.0625.

Coil packs and boots run the lifetime of the motor. Really no point in replacing them unless you are having issues. I didn't replace mine.
