Does anybody know if I can just put in a Ram 2500 camshaft into the 1500 motor? Its a 2017 Hemi I'm looking at swapping in.

I think I'll leave the MDS solenoids in place, they dont seem much different than the little piece of plastic thats on the non MDS trucks lol.

This article says the camshafts are "not interchangeable" between motors:

I'd imagine that's incorrect as well. I know a lot of these swaps have happened in the non-truck hemi's. There may be some special consideration, but likely possible.

Would you pay extra for a 2500 5.7 hemi?

It would already have the 2500 cam, no mds.

Prices are:
$2,200 1500 hemi
$3,000 2500 hemi

both used with ~60k miles

Idk which to buy!
