I appreciate the kudos Mike
. I saw ya coming from the other direction, and figured why not drop the hammer a bit. Was in 5th gear, just goosed it a couple times. A buddy of mine that lives in New Meadows got the same show lmao. Went to his house today, and he was truly impressed. I had to twist my brother's arm to drive the truck to town last night(sarcasm). Never thought a 38 yr old guy could giggle like a schoolgirl LOL!
This hood stack not only looks decent, but my EGTs are about 50-75 degrees cooler, and it spools like crazy. I backed off the wastegate 2 turns over the last couple days, 'cause it would peg my 30 PSI gauge in almost nothing flat, even in 5th gear. I think I need to invest in either new head bolts or studs . Bummer.
Got home from my buddys place in New Meadows, and found a crack developing in the elbow of the hood stack. Took the pipe off, re-welded it....no grinding the weld this time. Installed the pipe, and added a cheesy 1/8" thick x
1" wide brace that bolts to the exhaust manifold and is hose-clamped to the stack. I'll come up with something prettier in the near future.
I backed off the starwheel 2 turns tonight, 'cause she blows a bit more smoke than I'd like. Had to do a bit of cleanup on my fuel pin too....there was a groove that wearing into the fuel pin. I backed off the wastegate another 1/2 turn also. I'll be running the truck tomorrow, and I'll let you guys know how it goes .
