Looking to install either a tuner or chip into my 2006 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. And not sure which route to take. Mainly looking for better gas mileage but also some more horsepower.

Typically when someone says chip, they're talking about a tuner. Avoid those $60 chips on ebay that advertise 80hp and 10mpg gains. They do absolutely nothing.

For your year truck, I would look into a Superchips tuner (although it's in the name, it's not a chip.) They typically run $250+, and even with that price tag, you're looking at maybe 2-3 mpg and 10-15 hp gains. But it's something.

Pair that with some performance mods like a cai, ported throttle body, headers, exhaust and you're talking some better gains.
