Will a 2008 5.7l sawp in a 2006 4.7l or would it be more difficult than its worth or should i try to swap to a jeep 4.7l because they have a a little bit bigger aftermarket for some reason with ho cams and ither small stuff i just dont want to get rid of my first truck but its at 278k going strong considering im 18 and that truck has been through it all lol. i want to keep my truck but also have a bit more umph because there is no aftermarket for the dodge 4.7l hardly at all and it cost way more to mod it than the resulting power you get from it. what im kinda needing is someone to point me in the right direction and i think i could take it from there im just not sure what i should do to be completly honest.

If it is a two wheel drive changing your rear end gears is a good way to increase get up and go.

A guy swapped his 3.7 for a Hemi, which isn't exactly the same but it would be a very similar process. His was also a 2004, which is a good bit different than our 2006s. There would be a bit more programming that would need to be done on our trucks. I linked his thread

I have an 07 Ram 4.7L and I installed K & N CAI ( https://www.knfilters.com/77-1529kp-performance-air-intake-system ), Carven exhaust, Gibson shorty headers, Powerstop cross drilled and slotted rotors (painted my calipers red to match my black ram with red accents theme) 15% coupon on for the rotors, ceramic pads and hardware thru Amazon...heres the link: ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005UB4FF0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ), I haven't done this yet but I'd also recommend upgrading your spark plugs, clean or replace your injectors; especially with high mileage, like you mentioned earlier you can also upgrade to the HO intake from the Jeep, ummm what else.....oh, I also have a Diablo Trinity EX2 tuner with preset tunes. I'd like to get a custom tune from Jay Greene Racing (Hemi-Fever) if he does one for the 4.7L. I've seen other forums with guys that have did other upgrades but cant recall them at the moment. Hope this gives you starting point. I am also frustrated too with the limited upgrades for the 4.7! Really wish they had more without so much customization or fabricating. Wish you luck my brother! I also adding a couple of pics of my sound system I did inside. I know its not part of the question but thought I'd share it.
