I figured I'd start my build thread on my truck so here it goes.

May 9, 2014 I picked up my 2014 Ram 2500 equipped with the 6.4L Hemi, 4x4, Crew Cab, 4.10's with LSD.

I remember being 14 years old and my father bought his 2004 Ram 1500 and thinking damn I wish I could get a new truck . I currently had a 1977 Chevy K5 Blazer with a short block, 4" lift and 35's. It got 7mpg haha. I dreamt one day I could get a truck like my dad. Fast forward to May 9, 2014 and that dream came true.

First thing I did (day after I bought it) was de-badge.

I saved my badges just in case I would like to re-apply them in the future. I new I wanted to lift my truck but was thinking of waiting a while before I did it considering this is a brand new truck. Well, that all changed when I figured out how terrible the Firestone tires are off road.

Looks good stock. I'd like to see what direction you take it.

So far so good, 6.4, LS, 4.10's.

That's when I knew I couldn't wait. I started to acquire the necessary items for my lift, starting with wheels.

I purchased a set of 20x10 Fuel Krank wheels in black with a -24mm offset. Two weeks later (til I got paid) I purchased my tires. 37x13.50x20 Nitto Trail Grapplers load range E. I researched a lot and settled on the Nittos.

They had great reviews for their off-road capability as well as their on-road manners. A lot of customers get quite a few miles out of them as well.

Next came the lift. Now I knew I wanted an 8" and would not settle for a 6", don't ask me why, I'm stubborn. I saw a megacab that my suspension shop did with an 8" lift and 37's and wanted exactly that. At the time there was only one company that manufactured an 8" lift for the 2014 2500's and that was Full Throttle Suspension. It was a basic kit with only spacers. An 8" spacer up front for the coils and a 5" in the rear. It wasn't my first choice because I wanted a legit lift with more travel, but I really didn't want to wait. Come time when I am ready to call up the shop so they can order my lift and the owner tells me that they just had a McGaughy's employee at their shop showing them their new 8" long arm kit that does not require any drilling or cutting, and informs me we will be putting on the McGaughy's kit instead. Now I am thrilled! I had seen this kit online but it wasn't finished yet, it is exactly what I wanted in a lift. The next week I dropped off my truck for install.

The shop also cleared out my headlights for me.

Now I knew that getting in was going to be a chore that I would gladly do, however it got old fast and my girlfriend had a hard time getting in and out aswell. Along with a lot of my family members that can't get in. So I had some Amp steps installed.

These things are awesome and I absolutely love them! I never liked the look of steps on a lifted truck so these were the perfect solution.

Next on my list was window tint. I didn't just want dark windows, I wanted something that would block out the heat! So I got some 5% ceramic tint all around.

It's pretty awesome how it blocks the heat out.

As of now this is how it sits. I will start the mods again next year since I have a few trips coming up this year. Next on my list is line-x, retro fit headlights, mufflex exhaust, and if I REALLY feel like dropping some cash, some 4.56 or 4.88 gears with an electronic locker in the front.

Truck looks great! I would need some exhaust right away, can't handle a truck being quiet.

I don't mind it right now. You can hear the engine a little when you put your foot in it. My biggest reason is the valve in the muffler that is closed unless you are WOT. It is incredibly restrictive.

Thank you all! My plan is for a 20" LED bar in between the tow hooks.

Really good lookin' truck you got there! That's pretty much the truck that I'm shooting for in my future when I'm done with school.
