Has anyone done the Cabin Air mod on a new 16 yet? Is it the same as earlier models?

interested as well. I think you can probably just drop the glove box and see if the cutout looks the same, i would imagine at that point it would be safe to assume no changes were made. If i get a chance tomorrow ill take a peek

I have the Mopar cover and the cabin filter all ready to go... planned on doing this on my 2016 on my days off. The cover is the same size as the opening just as in the previous 4th gen Rams, so I don't see any issues with it. That said, subbed for info from someone who has done it :) just in case!

Will report back if I get to it on my days off...

I did this on my 2014 , it is very worth it imo.
I drive down gravel roads occasionally and the dust in the truck is pretty much nonexistent now ! Simple and cheep mod well worth it !

I did it in my '10 and my '13 also, I was just wondering if they made any changes in the '16's.

Just finished the cabin filter mod on my 2016. Exact same as other 4th gens. Take the time to remove the compartment above the glove box; it's worth it.

Just search for mopar part # 68052292AA. I think they call it an evaporator door or something but that's the part number for the cover. There are a ton of filter brands that will fit.

Just did my '16 2500. Other than some scraped knuckles, it went together like a charm. It sure would be nice to be left-handed. :)

I took out the top glove box for better access and view. After dropping the bottom box, there's one nut underneath the top one toward the driver side. 9/32 socket. Then the top box will pop out - it's got a few trim clips holding it in just reach around back and give a good push.

The plastic cut-out is thin, and heating it with the wife's hair dryer helps a lot. You do need to cut out the two little notches to the right and left of the bottom part of the "T" so the prongs on the new door slip right in. My door went on and latched tight with no problem.

Getting the filter in was a bit of a challenge with the dashboard in the way. And it's fairly rigid for a piece of paper. I used a Fram fresh breeze. The longer side of the filter runs from front to back of the truck, and the shorter side of the filter goes from driver side to passenger side. You kind of have to put the passenger side in the glove box area first, then the back corner of the passenger side into the slot, then twist the rest of the filter in then it will slide all the way into the slot.

Door was $13.95 at the dealer. Fram filter CF10729 was 19.95 at Farm & Fleet.

Hair dryer works great ! As stated above by Shark .

Not sure why the link above isn't working or thisone if it doesn't work but just Google :
www.allmoparparts.com follow the site appropriately and you'll find the kit for like $30 and there's a cool tutorial of the mod install .

Hope this helps !

Put mine in on Saturday, works like a charm. I had to get some left handed tools cause they said it was easier if you were left handed---LOL
