Ok, so I have a 2016 Ram Express 1500 Single Cab. 5.7l with Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger and Long Tube headers (catless straight pipe).
The past month I have been having a problem where I would slow to a stop and the truck would suddenly give me a message to “Shift to P to start then select gear”. While Air/Fuel Gauge drops to “8.23” and stays there. When I fully come to a stop the RPMs start to fluctuate from 300-1100 even after shifting to park. I then turn the truck off, if I turn it back on right away it will continue to run rough while Air/Fuel reads 8.23 consistently. Then after about 10 minutes of sitting I can turn it back on and runs normal again.
This would happen whenever coming to a stop, but recently starts to also do it when I’m cruising at any MPH and notice the Gauge drop and I lose throttle then pull over.
I had my tuner check it out numerous times the past few weeks every time leaving as the truck running normal but continues to force me to shut it off. I also took it to a performance specialist and a general mechanic both said they didn’t find anything wrong with fuel system. Fuel flowing well, all sensors working, etc.
Now I’m stuck trying to find someone else that can check it out since nobody seems to figure out why it keeps giving me problems.
Only Engine Code I have got so far is “P0171”
If there is anyone that has any idea what it could be and where could I start before I take it to dealership for expensive diagnosis and repairs?
