Hopefully by then, Ram would have gotten smart and put an 8 speed with the 6.4. Then it would be flying up the Ike.
I don't think it would have been much better because of the gear spacing and torque management. It looks like it just sits at a certain rpm like the "gear hold" feature is active.So, unless I misunderstood, their methodology is to just hold it to the floor and let the truck figure it out. I also get it that it's the same for all trucks, but would the outcome be any different if they "drove" the truck, meaning utilize the shift buttons and manage the throttle. Not beefing, just wondering.

The bigger internals of the 68rfe are behind the diesel though.Not sure how a custom tune and gears are going to eat the tranny-
With 488"s you could prolly hold third instead of 2nd and the tune should help the motor a little more- that tranny takes the 800ftnof torque the diesel puts through it just fine. But then again - to each their own.
