Its been 3 weeks and nothing. Contacted the local dealership and learned if your shopping for a new truck they are very responsive but if its a service call don't expect a call back.

The welds are nowhere near the threads so it's not a big deal. Also there would be very little heat transferred to the threads from where the weld is done.AND, I'm sure it's really easy to grind the weld off without damaging the threads.
Its an easy fix to align the steering wheel. I may take it to a trusty alignment shop just for piece of mindmaybe they didnt have a alignment machine (not every dealer has one) which tells them the wheels are straight ahead so adjustment can be made to drag link. and you told them not to drive it, understandibly i dont blame you there.
at this point why not adjust it yourself and move one
I'm glad to finally get the new drag link. They, my local dealership just are not great of backing there product. The welds are nowhere near the threads so it's not a big deal. Also there would be very little heat transferred to the threads from where the weld is done.
On the other hand it shouldn't be this difficult to get reimbursed for a new drag-link.
