i have a 2015 ram 3500 that was recalled under the V06 recall. the recall had the steering drag link nuts welded so they can no longer be adjusted during a wheel alignment. there is a procedure out that has instructions on how to perform an alignment after the recall but a couple of tire shops have told me that those instructions do not work. they said i would have to buy all new parts to replace the drag link in order to get an alignment. one shop told me they would add a couple of hours labor to unweld the drag link so they could do an alignment. the dealer says they can do the alignment with the welded drag link but they charge extra for it. or they can replace the parts. but the replacement parts are not covered by the recall. seems to me this recall is going to cost you extra when trying to get an alignment.

what are people experiencing out there? how are you getting alignments after this recall?

Get ahold of @RamCares. Several on here, including me, have got their drag link replaced under the recall

I tried that recently and RamCares had a specialist contact me. The specialist denied the "non-welded" drag link repair stating I have the approved welded repair. I have visited the top three tire chain stores in my area, and none of them will touch the front end because of the welded "repair". Looks like RAM can publish anything they like regardless if it is a workable solution.

Since I need new tires looks like I'll have to pay for a drag link and the installation.

I bought my '22 ram 2500 slightly used so how do I find out if mine has had that V06 recall done to the front end. I DO have the odd tire wear on the outside edge of the front passenger side tire.

You can look up your VIN and it will show all recall history and some other things. Not sure what the site is but the link floats around here occasionally. Odd tire wear sounds more tie rod than drag link but if you can still get it fixed for free its worth investigating.

I have run my vin before. I see only 5 recalls and all have been done. I guess the drag link recall does not apply to my '22 laramie 2500 dsl. but that doesnt explain the abnormal tire wear on the front passenger side.

My dealer welded mine the first time after I was told it had been approved. I contacted RamCares after that and was told to go back and they would replace it and they did.
