Any freer flowing muffler will do. Mileage won't necessarily increase, though. Try replacing the stock muffler with an aftermarket unit.

What matters is how it sounds to you and that's a difficult call for someone to pick for you. Try listening to some sound clips online.

I like Corsa & Magnaflow. Some folks like Flowmaster. It's your call to make.

A catback or muffler kit isnt going to make any big changes in hp or mpg. Go with a quality kit that sounds the best to you. There are several great options to check out like

Borla
Magnaflow
MBRP
Corsa
Solo Performance

We offer all these brands and more. Message me if you would a quote on anything. Let me know if you have any questions as well. I can assist you with your choice.

I have a 2004 5.9L Cummins, I ordered this: (after extensive research and actually talking to a tech at Edge)

But they sent me this:

Turns out they're similar but one is longer than the other. When UPS dropped it off I threw it in the truck and took it to my mechanic to install it. It actually looked easy to replace but I don't have access to a lift (not on Base anymore) so the one nut at the turbo down-pipe was too far to reach.

PROS: Good materials, seems to improve throttle response, doesn't seem to improve mileage even thought it doesn't have a muffler per se...just a resonator.

CONS: Check the box BEFORE you take your old system off (since i talekd ot them on the phone and ordered it through the tech I didn't think they'd screw it up - lesson learned). So, I had to pay extra for the installer to get pipe and weld it on to get past the wheels. (Edge/Holley) pretty mush told me to pound sand when I told them they sent me the wrong thing. The guys on the phone are nice but you can't get any action out of them so it might be better going with someone with better customer service. I purposely buy stuff from states that aren't flaky...but now UT is on my flaky list.

ALSO: The tailpipe is shorter than OEM, so the tip isn't double walled and melts your floppy mudflaps if you're not careful. Ironically, the OEM muffler lasted 18 years and 136000 miles (and 11 states - yankee and south) before complete rust-through.

Warning: If you buy from Holley or Edge you risk the above!
