Traded my 2021 Laramie for a 2024 late last month. Frankly did so without even looking at a 24 expecting no major changes but confident the quality, ride and interior quietness would be the same.
So far quality, ride and quiet all that I expected. Interior is identical so far as i can tell. Only significant change is the look and function of the 12" screen. Very disappointed. '21 screen was sharp and really stood out. '24 screen busy and just dull. Definitely expected better.
Also astounded that a truck of this caliber much less a $72,000+ MSRP truck in 2024 would come without a phone charging pad. Still have to plug the phone in for charging. What were they thinking??

Congrats!

What made you do the trade?
Did you have an etorque?
What motor did you get in the new one?

I was actually looking to see if there was a really good deal available for a 2023. I’d swapped a 2019 for the 21 after 28 months for $11000 all in. Hoped to do this again for a bit more. Made a deal on the 2024 that cost me more but too good to pass up.
Had an Etorque and got another

Did your ‘21 have it? It’s not really a pad in a ram, vertical shelf and only the left side charges wirelessly in mine. That’s really surprising it isn’t standard in 2024 in all of them.

I have a Sport, one step down from the Laramie in Canada, and I have wireless charging.

You aren’t missing anything without the wireless charging. It’s ok for a little while, 10 to 15 minutes. It is a very slow charge and after a bit, heats up the phone. On a long trip, it will overheat the phone and apps stop working. If you really want to charge your phone, the cable charger is the best option in my experience. 2023 Limited.

That's not the case on my 22 Ltd Longhorn HD. It is pretty slow charging, but keeps up pretty well even when using AA and Google Maps. Never had the phone overheat, even on 14 hour straight through driving sessions.

I really like the 12" screen, at least compared to the 8.4" in my 18 Laramie. Very crisp and very customizable.

the 8.4 in my '19 was great but I think the 12" in my '22 is a little bit of overkill. also I liked the nav screen in my '19 better than the one in my '22

Personal preferences. Some prefer the smaller 8.4" and others prefer the 12.1". I'm a little torn having had both. But given the choice I would lean towards the 8.4" because I like having actual buttons for things like seat heat/ventilation and steering wheel heat. I also don't like how they implemented the 12.1, only using half the screen for some things. I'm hoping they do a better job utilizing the new 14 inch screen they're going to in the 2025 models.

The 2020 Laramie I used to have didn't have the wireless charger, so I added one myself. I bought a wireless phone charger from Amazon for about $25 and stuck it in the stock location using velcro. Phone didn't heat up and it wasn't as finicky about positioning the phone in just the right place, unlike the Ram wireless charger in our 2020 Limited. Not to mention how many times I left my phone in the truck because it's kind of out of sight when it's in the wireless charger location. When we go on road trips we both just plug our phones in and the charger doesn't ever see any use.

I bought a 2024 Limited - not standard in that trim either. Neither is a spray in liner or bed lighting. But I knew that.
In fact, they dropped some standard features from the Limited in the middle of the 2023 model year (power side steps). They were standard in early 2023 and were dropped into the Level 1 package by spring 23.

Less stuff... more money. See how they did that?

that’s batty. Are seats still standard in a big horn? Tradesman still come with doors? Why is a limited 30 grand more if nothing comes with it now ?!?

My phone gets hot in the case, but not if I take it out to charge.... But the hassle of taking it out to charge defeats the convenience of wireless charging. I may as well plug it in and get a faster, cooler charge.

Can any of our USA Friends help me out if you have a 2023 or a 2024 Laramie 3500 equipped as below?

Could you pop out your headlight switch (pull on the housing) and post a picture of the Part Number?
