3.7L engine from Jeep Liberty to Dodge Ram 1500

Okay, my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 3.7L engine is toast.

I've got a free engine from a 2002 Jeep Liberty.

I noticed there is no EGR on the 2002 Jeep Liberty version. Will this engine work in my 2007 Dodge Ram?

No, 2002 Liberty 3.7 has different number of crank tone wheel teeth than later ones. You'd have to pull both cranks and transfer them. There is also a slight compression and cam profile difference from the 02-04 engines and the 05 and later engines but it's negligible.
