I just got into a 2012 reg cab 4x4. Looking to level the truck as it has a pretty steep rake. Is a 3" level (spacers) safe for the CVs or should I go smaller? I'll need tires in 10k so in looking to stuff something more aggressive in there. Any input appreciated!

I wouldn't go any higher than 2.5"

I had 3" rake before I installed the 2 piece maxtrac 2.5" Level. Now it's like .5" and looks level.

I was told anything over 2.5 would mess with your CV joints and such, I stuck with a 2" level to be safe and have had zero issues...mine was a HBS spacer, very happy with it

yes anything over 2" dramatically reduces the lifespan of CV joints

Bilsteins here at 2.8" setting and everything is great. (but I think they really gave me about 2.5" of lift or so). On a 2012 I'd probably stick with 2.1" though, since your truck was built before they updated the suspension in 2013.

Bilstein's at 2.8" is the highest you want to go. As mentioned above anything higher will give you issues and you want to retain around 0.5" of rake to avoid looking nose high on a leveled truck.
