it seems i still cant figure out what tires I want but i actually am making progress on the subject. I promise :roflsquared:

so I now have it narrowed down to 2 different sizes (and most likely 2 different tires) that I want. They take into consideration gear ratio changes due to tire size, load capacity for the 1 ton, and tire types.

the one I am leaning towards today is the 305/65/18 ( 33.6/12"/18). the only tire that i have found in that size that I like (and want to afford) is the BFG AT k02. there are VERY few options in that size. the other is the EXO grappler in the 285/70/18. there are also VERY few options in that size too. I know it will fit but im not sold on the tire just yet....even though it gets good reviews and is a little cheaper than the BFG.

sooo...

anyone have pics of their truck with that size (305/65/18)? they should fit without level/lift on stock rims no problem form what I have gathered.

I too am in the same boat. I have read some folks saying the HD trucks are destroying these KO2 where others are running them just fine.

iv haven't heard that yet. I have always heard that they wear very well/long on anything. I honestly think a LOT of your tire life has to do with driving style. and tire pressure/foot print

way more than we think.

are you wanting the same sizes or just looking at the BFG's? I love to look of both tires but worried about the EXO's (cheaper though) and going through my back yard and woods when the ground is a little muddy. the look like they will fill up and not clean out well without excessive wheel spin.

Yep. I have the K02's and have had no issues with noise or vibration. But certainly noticed that they will wear pretty fast if you're aggressive on the throttle.

:hmm:

and they are supposed to wear better than the ko's by like 15% or something. but in reality out of 50,000 another 15% is only 7500 more

I have those tires on my 2016, I have them on ATX wheels with 5.71 backspacing and +18 offset. I do have a leveling kit on, but I think they would fit without it.

Well I went with 305/60/R18 but pretty dang close. I wanted KO2's but ended up going with Terra Grapplers for the weight difference. Went from a 35x12.5xR18 mud terrain which actually measured 34.5" in diameter. If I would have went with 305/65/R18 then diameter would have been 33.58" and for my goals deemed not enough of a height reduction for performance reasons. Mine actually measures 32.40" in height which gained me 2.10" overall while maintaining a 12.24" tire width still giving a moderately aggressive stance. I wish it was a little more but it can be a game of sacrifices...

So you had 35's and they robbed your power to much?

99%of the time i will take a steel wheel over an aluminum one any day....if i wanted to put the coin down on some aluminum ones id be seriously considering yours.

That is very rare for me to like and aluminum wheel. They look very...sturdy....? Tough..? Dont know what im looking for here but the are sick. I cant take ANY chrome though.

I should be honest about my opinion on the duratrac. I love the tread pattern but hate how many comments iv seen about the thin sidewalls. one was by a group of jeep guys and a number of them had them. they had a large number of sidewall punctures and the poster mentioned it was the thinnest sidewall he had ever seen on an a/t-m/t.

I know its on the internet and it could be blown out of proportion but it has to hold some merit to big such a big topic.
