Last night went out to go home, tried remote start and it beeped twice but never turned over. Got in and tried to start it, diesel warm up did its thing then when it tried to start sounded like it tried to start but only made like one turn... then nothing. Waited a minute tried it again did the same thing. Called my service dept and they said it was cold and leave it in the on position for 20 minutes then try it. Sounded kind of weird but I did what they said. After 20 minuted tried it and this time the diesel warm ran then when it tried to start it made a loud popping sound thru the speakers, the dash and lights all went blank for about 2 seconds then it came back online. Tried it one more time, same thing. Called for roadside assistance to tow it to dealership. Tow truck driver asked if I had tried a jump start and I told him no and were not going to do it, did not want to take a chance of damaging anything or voiding warranty. He asked why and I did the start up and same thing with loud pop again. He said OK lets take it to d the dealer ship. My question has anyone else experienced this? And if so what was it. I'm waiting on the service dept to let me know whats up.....

Bad battery(s). And your service department are idiots telling you to leave it in the on position for 20 minutes. It is no where near cold enough in Texas to ever give you issues starting or need to leave it on.

Haha yeah that's what I was thinking, how cold is it in Texas right now? Never noticed diesels having much trouble until it gets closer to 0 degrees. Got to love those dealer solutions though...

IMO it was just enuff time for them to close the doors and get outta there.
The other mistake was not letting the tow operator jump it.
