Wouldn’t there be concerns of loss of power or decrease in mpg with a thicker oil?Little thicker on start up. Maybe sticks to metals better then 0w. Im due for a change not sure if im going 0w40 5w40 or 5w30 yet. Redline for sure. They say on there website that 5w40 is equal to a 20w50 conventional. Not sure if thats to thick on start up in the cold. What you guys say

Hope you all changing to something other than recommended don't have the MaxCare warranty. If so, knowing how quick FCA is to deny coverage for the littlest things can you conceive how quick they'd deny a major engine issue if they discover you've been running a non-sanctioned oil.
I guess this is my problem. I never owned a motor and i have had quite a lot that gave a **** what oil i ran. Now i never went way out of spec either. I ran m1 in my 1500 5.7 for 115k with not one problem. Im gonna stick with ow40 in my 6.4. I run m1 now just may try 0w40 redline .Hope you all changing to something other than recommended don't have the MaxCare warranty.
