65RFE related questions

[Wild one]

I don't know. I have a friend in the transmission repair/rebuild business and he says he can make a RFE into a very durable unit, and he claims he's never had one come back. Then again, he refuses to build for racing, says guys will still find a way to blow them up.

Question: wouldn't be easier to upgrade to a 66RFE if one was seeking a stronger unit without expensive durability upgrades?

I don't know what all is involved in swapping in the 66.Most guys after they've blown up 3 or 4 65's,just swap in the 8 speed,and then ***** about having spent all that money on rebuilding their 65's,and in hindsight they should of just did the 8 speed swap right from word go,lol

I guess I'd rather have 8HP70 or 75 myself.
