Alright tech guys. I got a question for you. My dad recently purchased a 2015 2500 SLT with the 5.0 Radio in it. He is wanting to upgrade to the 8.4 radio. I found one on eBay for him. But it comes with auto climate control and dual zone climate. His truck doesn't have this. Would this radio still work in his truck. And would this be something the dealer could flash in to work? Here's the pic of the one I found on eBay.

And here's the one that's currently in his truck

Here's the thread where you need to look/ask your questions...

DIY: 2013+ RA3/RA4 8.4" Radio Conversion Upgrade

Looks like the parts that someone was planning on doing the mod. Reply back in the thread with the actual part numbers (radio PN, HVAC module pn. Auto bezel will work... See thread) that are in the picture as well as current blower, ie 4 speed vs 7 speed. (Looks like you may have a 4 speed fan currently in the picture but can't tell for sure)

All the details & pn's are in the first 2 pages of the thread.

PS: if it's actually a 4 speed fan currently, you will need an extra "fan power harness" and a 4 speed fan specific "conversion harness" (the one pictured may be a 4 speed or 7 speed conversion harness).

Going rate on a 2014 8.4an/VP4-NA radio is about $500, bezel is about $75-$100, conversion harness/cellular bypass plug are about $100, 4 speed HVAC module @$65, fan power harness @$65-$90.

No flash should be needed as long as you have the 4 digit unlock code for the radio from the seller.

Appreciate it man. I'll read through that. And let my dad know what the costs will be. And see if he still wants to do it.

What was the cost of everything in that ebay picture & specifically the part number of the RA4 radio?

$1000. I was thinking it was alittle high. I was going to ask for some help piecing everything together on here. Electronics is most definitely not my strong suit.

Yep that's way too much and not any of the parts you need. EBay is not necessarily the best place/pricing to get them either.

Thanks guys. He's decided to fix up the exterior first before he heads into the interior modifications.

+1... Better off spending it on other goodies!

I agree. He's got s set of N-Fab wheel to wheel steps and some Power Wagon fender flares ordered. For now. He has plans on turning it into. A diesel Power Wagon knockoff.
