99 ram 1500 plow

I want to buy a used plow for my 99 ram 1500 sport 4x4 with the 5.2 and i want to know if a plow is even ok, i just want a straight blade 7ft maybe 8ft i dont know. also if i buy a used plow with the bracket (i dont know what to call it) the part that i put on my truck that stays on all year. is that universal for each make or is it specific for each make and model?

Should be OK. There's only 5 or 10hp difference between the 5.2 and 5.9. Shouldn't have no trouble with a plow.
