Hey everybody, weird request that I can't seem to find having been discussed before. I have a 2015 single-rear-wheel 1500. Can I use AlfaOBD to enable dually tpms? Hear me out.. I just got the Air Lift 1000 bags and was looking for a factory clean way to monitor the pressure in them. I know these trucks can do it (per attached pic), but am I crazy?

I like your thinking, save your base settings first, make the change and give it a try. May need a tpms tool to ID the 2 new sensors. Not sure how you will get them to read the bag pressure though. Maybe some kind of aux expansion chamber to put them in?

Interesting thought there. I'm not familiar with the dually TPMS setup so would be curious if you could apply different pressure thresholds to each rear tire. What I mean is that if you can only set it so all 4 rear tires have the same pressure thresholds you would get warning lights whenever you had the bags deflated.
The other things to consider is where and how you are going to mount the TPMS sensors for the bags.

I haven't had time to try anything yet, but I'm thinking some sort of PVC chamber that houses the tpms sensor, with the fill-valve protruding through, then poly tubing runs from PVC chamber to the bag. I would fill the bag through the tpms sensor.

I think I read somewhere that the pressure threshold can only be set by front/back. May be different with the dually setup? I'll poke around in Alfa. The bags will go as low as 5psi, anybody know how low the threshold can be set?

I have a dually with TPMS. If I remember right Heavy Duty trucks like mine don't have a differential threshold. I've never had a warning neither. I run my fronts higher than the rear duals always, 70psi, & 55psi.

Good news (I think)! I was able to set VehicleConfig5-Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) Vehicle Present (pic 1) to "yes" and as soon as the config completed I got DRW on my TPMS screen! Next to order some TPMS sensors and see if the RF module picks them up.

Looks like the pressure thresholds are only set by front/rear like I suspected (pic 2), even after DRW enabled.

I was able to drop the rear wheel threshold to 10psi, and don't anticipate having lower than that in my bags, so it may work out okay in my use-case.

Bonus find: when connected to the RF module there's a section for manually programing sensors to their respective location (pic 3), to include DRW and the spare tire?! I know our sensors are supposed to pick up automatically, but if they don't or are in the wrong place this may be helpful to someone.20230810_232220.jpg20230810_233252.jpg20230810_234058.jpg

I was wondering if it would be possible to add the spare tire on my Warlock using AlfaOBD, this gives me some hope. Thanks.
