Aftermarket Black Housing Quads back on sale on ebay....

Before i started my current retrofit kit i was searching for a pair of aftermarket black housing quads so they would be easier to disassemble without the permaseal glue. During my search it became apparent from posts on this forum and others that for one reason or another all of the aftermarket headlight companys had stopped making and selling any aftermarket black housing quad headlights. Everywhere i looked they were sold out, out of stock, with no hope in sight.

Well it seems they are now back on sale on ebay through multiple company's for $120-$143. Some of them even have smoked versions aswell as versions with clear corner reflectors already installed on them!!

I wish these had popped up a week ago as ive already started my custom paint and retrofit on my oem chrome quads, but I just thought i would share this info as i know a ton of members on here want the black housing quads but dont want to pay and/or cant afford to pay the $260-$300 they usually go for.

Im building a set of quads right now... Have them apart already and most of the internals are already bought and on their way. Just need to make a final decision on which hid kit i want and which 3157 switchback bulbs i want to order and then ill have everything i need to finish them. Ill be taking photos and documenting everything along the way and once im done ill make a DIY thread on here.

Curious about them, and your Rock Auto experience as well.

I did not order these and wont be, so i have no experience or ability to comment on their quality. As for RockAuto, its a long story. PM me if you would like to know more.

Yea i have those aswell... Cant use them right now because retroshop is out of adapter harnesses until at least mid-march.

The quads im building are sort of a fun project.

yes that is what I was asking lol. what are you going to do with them?

Im undecided. I mounted them and they look awesome.

By the time the adapter harnesses become available i should have these quads built and on my truck. Ill either sell the quads and make money off of them or ill sell the projectors. What im most likely to do though is just keep both and maybe alternate every few months... Not really sure.

Like i said im building the quads kind of as a challenge and fun project. I have a few ideas i want to do to them to make them one of a kind unique. So i also want to see if i can actually do what i want to with them. Ive never done a headlight build and if it goes smooth maybe ill sell them for a profit and be comfortable enough to open up and customize the tyc projectors

And if i end up destroying the quads in the process then ill sell the morimoto mini h1s and the other stuff for my money back. I only paid $80 for the quads so im not too worried about destroying them, ive already succesfully baked both of them open with no damage. Im really doing it as a test run and like i said if it goes smooth id love to try customizing the tyc's next.

But the whole point of this post was to alert other RF members that the replica black housing quads are back on sale.
