Anybody have any in-site for putting the airlift 1000 bags on a lifted 1500? I have the Mopar 4" lift and just bought a new trailer so I'm going to need the bags back there. I've looked and can't find anything about needing spacers or what I need to do.
Thanks!

if you're running a taller spring, you may need a different bag than a stock height truck. might be best to contact air lift directly and ask them what you need.

Have the inner dimensions (length x width) handy when you talk to them and they can set you straight.

I installed the airlift 1000 bags on my truck which has a 6" fabtech suspension lift. I used the standard bags for a regular 1500, and there is about a 4" gap between the airbag and the fabtech coil....no issues so far. The airbags have taken most of the squat out of the rear end, and I feel more comfortable loading my quads and dirtbike in the trailer when I tow.

I used the space that came with the stock setup https://www.airliftcompany.com/shop/60818/

Prior to ordering, I contacted airlift with the same questions you have (spacers for my 6" lifted coils), and they told me they did not have custom spacers. They told me it was ok to run the stock airlift bags with spacers although I would have about a 4-6" space. It was recommended that I install the airbags at the bottom of the coil, and I followed their directions.

Steve,

In your case, I'd contact Airlift for their opinion.

Maybe there was a time when something like JJH's set up was what they recommended, but maybe they have something different today.

I'm a happy Airlift 1000 user. As Airlift is a Sponsor of this Forum, I've asked them to come online here and give us some help, as I'm not certain how their product is designed to work in this non-OEM application.

It would be nice to hear the 'do's and don'ts, and if/why something that seems a bit odd to some of us may be perfectly OK.

You do not need spacers top and bottom. The air bags actually push out on the coil spring rather than up. If you can get me the inside diameter and height of the spring at ride height, I will see what I can find for you.

ended up calling your customer support and gave them the dimensions exactly like u stated. turns out the spring on my truck are the exact same dimensions as the stock and they fit perfect. I put them towards the top of the spring and have a gap on the bottom, figured this would be better so that the spacer for the air line wouldnt slide around or be loose.

These will be going in my truck next weekend. Hoping to reduce the porpoising caused by my 27' TT.

To install mine I actually jacked up one tire at a time(leaving the tire on just in case) and installed the air bag from the top portion on the spring pushing it down towards the bottom instead. Found this method MUCH easier then going from the bottom
