I've searched and found many different answers. Also went to Crotchfield for their computer generated opinion.

I want to upgrade my factory alpine dash and rear door speakers. I've decided on JBL. I'm seeing the gx302 and club 3020 for the dash and gto939 and club 9630 for the rear doors. According to Crotchfield, the gx and gto do not fit, only the club series. Is that because that's what they stock?

The critical fact you need to find out is the mounting depth available in your truck for the rear speakers. Then compare it to the published spec by JBL on the mounting depth of the speaker you want and you have your answer.

I see the mounting depth of the JBL Club 9630 is 3 1/8"
I see the mounting depth of the JBL GTO 939 is 2 7/8"

I don't know what the mounting depth available for the rear speakers are, but I know it's deeper than the space for the front door speakers, which is 2 3/4".

I also see the 9630's are $54.95 a pair at Amazon and $129.99 a pair at Crutchfield.

Also be aware that the Alpine uses a 2.4 ohm speaker.

I’ve got the JBL Club series in my truck. For the dash they are great, but I had to add a 4 ohm resister so they didn’t sound to bright. The JBL’s fit just fine in the rear. The front door I used a small spacer so they would work there. They sound great! Much better then the oem crap.i got mine from crutchfields so they came with the harness adapters that made installation a breeze.

i believe the mounting depth in the doors is 3.09, so anything over that your going to need to use a .250 spacer. You can go bigger on the spacer but good luck on getting the door panels back on. i tried the .500 spacer and the door panel was being a ***** to get back on....not saying it cant be done but its super tight
