Wondering if an alternator off a 2004 jeep 4.0 will work on my 5.2 Ram. Both densos. Same plugs/case. Reason I'm asking is I put a new one on my jeep. Returning jeep to dealer because they cannot get the title. Long story. Hate to leave a $180 alternator on it. Was going to swap it with my 01 Ram. Jeeps is 136 amp & Ram is 117 amp ( think). They are identical. But not sure about regulator. I know the jeeps is regulated by the pcm.

If the one off my ram 5.2 will work on jeep, that's all that matters. They won't get the new one. Are the ram v8 alternators internally regulated or regulated by the pcm?

Thanks

As long as the mount is the same, it should work. The connectors should be the same, the voltage is regulated by the PCM as well
