Amplifier Install Question Power On/Off/Trigger?

so when I install my Pioneer GM-D6901 amplifier...will the amp always be "on'? or is it triggered by an audio signal and does anyone know if the SIGNAL 12v wire is clearly labeled on the back of a mygig stereo? Turns off after a while with no audio signal? I don't want to drain my battery.

If not...how should I install this so it' turns on/off automatically? TIA

If it is running speaker level in, it probably turns on and off when signal is present.

Says right in the manual.... page 9, half way down on the left side.

sorry I don't have the amp yet so I don't have a manual to read that's why I asked. sorry to bother.

if you go on crutchfields website and its an amp they sell itll have a manual you can download and read.

Perfect...from the manual. thanks guys...this is what I needed to know. so as I understand this...the amp will turn on when I use speaker line inputs via the rca adapter supplied by audio signal and off when signal is gone. this will be perfect. thank you!


If speaker wires with an RCA pin cord from a


headunit are connected to this amplifier, the

amplifier will automatically turn on when the

headunit is turned on. When the headunit is

turned off, the amplifier turns off automatically.

Yep, it will turn on/off with the radio.
