Another Car Seat ?

I have searched and read several threads, I know I can mount the car seat on my passenger side and use the rear seat hooks,, Issue is if I try and mount the seat in the center ( preferred } the hooks are only for the passenger and driver side, and the straps on the car seat are a bit too short to reach if mounted in the center ! NO hooks for center seat !
To those that mounted seat in center how did you connect the seat ? I would prefer the hard mount more then the seat belt !

I think you are referring to the latch connect system. I thought there was hooks in the middle. I’ll have to look at my setup, I do have a car seat in the middle. Can’t remember how I hooked it up. But using the seat belt is a little harder to install it’s just as safe if installed properly.
Edit: what year truck are you referring to?

There are belt ratchets you can get to use the center seatbelt. I had them with my daughter’s seat. The Hulk couldnt budge her seat. I actually ratcheted it so tight, when she went to a buckle-in booster seat, i couldnt get enough slack to disengage the damn ratchet. Had to cut the thing out with my Dremel. It was super secured. I think they cost $20. Might have been called Mighty Tight or something like that...

Thaks for pick, I knew about the tethers but was looking for the solid mounts,, From the pic it shows they are only on the passenger and drivers side ! I have to dig up my manual !

My 2018 Crew Cab does not have center latches and it is not recommended to install a carseat in the position.

My 2018 was equipped with 3 latch systems in the back seat of my crew cab. You may want to check your manual for exact placement as I first thought my center seat didn't have latch.

Looks like those tighteners are less then 30$ Nice Thanks again. Looked up the manual and says use the seat belt and tether to install seat in the center ! So with that tightener should be fine !

I have to agree with you ,.That make sense so I will only use the passenger side seat .

I had 3 car seats in my crewcab......fianlly down to just 2 booster using only seatbelts now.

And i just doubled checked,my ‘14 has 2 latch attatchments for the middle seat though they are not centered on the bench.......

I had 3 Birtax seats, not small by any means and all 3 were strapped in with the latches and tethers. IMHO the tether setup, especailly with 3, is the biggest PITA! Would have been sooooo much easier if Ram had just put attachment loops on the floor!

My 2015 Quad Cab only had the mounting hooks on the passenger and driver's side. None in the middle which is a bummer . But I have to move the passenger seat all the way up which sucks for passenger but my truck si too bad for them lol

yea i had the same problem... i had a 2014 quad cab, and only had latches in the drivers and passenger side. my wifes seat was up all the way and her knees were pressed to the dash, the car seat rear facing was also still pressed up against the rear of the passenger seat,
my wife and the babies safety took priority, i took a HUGE hit but i went and bought my new 2015 crew cab and never had room issues again. 3 years later im still happy with that decsion

This car seat is for my Grandson and no wife for the front seat :O so for me I am not looking for a Crew Cab yet But man those car seat got huge since I had my kids :O

My crew cab only has hooks on rear passenger and Drivers side, but the times I have had grand daughter's car seat in just use hook on one side. Once seatbelt is properly tightened on seat that sucker isn't going nowhere.

On the car seat I have it has 2 belt hooks that go to those 2 U hook ups.. I can also do it the same way you have yours mounted Thanks!
